GERRY SHANAHAN'S LATEST PROJECT NEWS:
The Voice
'Voices'. A short film
about a husband and wife on the brink of destruction. Written by Gerry
Shanahan, will be produced by Barbershop Triplet Productions, Gerry Shanahan
and Helene Meade. Cathal Nally (My Angel, The County) will direct. Cast
attached so far is Una Kavanagh (Fair City, Tufty), Brian Fortune (3
Crosses), Breacadh McBride and Aaron
Shanahan. Nicky Royston will write the score. The project is expected to
start shooting 21st of August.
Horror Fantasy Film Festival
Gerry Shanahan
will be
attending the Horror Fantasy film festival in Orvieto, Italy
18th - 21st March, where 'Colour From The Dark' in chich in which he had a
supporting role, will be screened in competition. Mr. Shanahan will also
meet with directors Dario Argento, Shaun Robbert Smith and others to discuss
upcoming projects. While there, he will also take part in a publicity
photoshoot for the feature 'Vexations' in which he will have a supporting
role. It will be directed by Ugo Frosi in the summer.
Shooting starts on 'The County', in which Mr. Shanahan will play a lead
role, on 27th March.
Lost Causes
Gerry will play the role of 'Gentleman Joe' in Brett Halliday's feature
"Lost Causes. It will start principal photography in late 2010.
The County
Gerry was offered and
accepted the lead role in Cathal Nally's short The County. It will be
produced by Barber Triplet and starts shooting in late March.
RTE Storyland
Gerry has just finished playing the role of
'Duncan' in 'Butchers' for the RTE Storyland web series. It will be online
on 29th January.
Halloween Murders
A feature written and
to be directed by Brett Halliday. Gerry will be producing and playing a role
in this feature to be shot in May.
Portrait of a Zombie
Horror feature
"Portrait of a Zombie" has recently wrapped shooting in Dublin. Synopsis: A
working class Irish family is caught up in a zombie invasion of Dublin,
Ireland. When their son, Billy, becomes a zombie the family chooses to take
care of him in the home much to the chagrin of the neighbors and the local
Crime Boss (played by Gerry Shanahan).
Shackled
Gerry has recently
wrapped on feature film "Shackled", in which he played 'Jacob Lowry. It is
produced by Squid Media and is currently in post production.
My Angel
Feature film "My Angel" has
some pickups to shoot and should be wrapped February 2010. It is a story of
love and loss and is being produced by Barbershop Triplet Productions. Gerry
played a supporting role of "Tommy" in this feature.
